Peggy Ovire and Taye Arimoro: What Really Happened on Set
Nollywood actress and producer Peggy Ovire has come under online scrutiny after actor Taye Arimoro alleged he was assaulted and prevented from leaving a film location. Arimoro claimed his contracted time had ended around 11 p.m., but when he tried to leave, his exit was allegedly blocked. In a live video, he showed injuries to his gums and lips, accusing Peggy Ovire’s driver and crew of deflating his car tyres to stop him from leaving.
According to Daily Post Nigeria, Arimoro said the incident violated his contract and amounted to workplace harassment.

Peggy Ovire’s Side of the Story
However, Peggy Ovire denied all allegations. She stated that her team merely asked Arimoro to complete a few additional scenes before wrapping up, but that he allegedly became violent and assaulted both the production manager and her driver, leaving one crew member bleeding from the ear. In her response, shared via Linda Ikeji’s Blog, Peggy Ovire maintained that she has witnesses and video evidence to support her version.
Industry Reactions and What’s Next
The incident has sparked conversations within the Nollywood industry about safety, professionalism, and respect on set. No formal police report or union action has yet been confirmed. The dispute highlights the need for transparent actor contracts and respectful communication between cast and crew.
