Controversial Nigerian singer Portable has issued a bold warning to comedian and content creator Carter Efe as they prepare for their highly anticipated celebrity boxing match, set for May 1 at the prestigious Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos.

This event is expected to attract fans from across Nigeria and beyond, given the enormous social media following both entertainers enjoy.

In a video circulating online, Portable spoke confidently in Pidgin English, mocking Carter Efe’s choice of trainer, singer Small Doctor, and questioning the quality of his preparations.

Portable claimed that he had already defeated Small Doctor in a physical confrontation at the residence of businessman Abu Abel, suggesting that the skit maker only turned to boxing after that defeat.

He emphasized that no amount of training could prepare Carter Efe for the fight and urged him to hire a more experienced coach if he wanted any chance of winning.

Portable said, “Carter Efe, I see Small Doctor dey train you. The same Small Doctor I beat, wey I almost use blow commot him brain for Abu Abel’s house.

Na because I beat him, na him make him go dey learn boxing. Small Doctor is a failure. Carter Efe, na failure dey train you. If you like gym, I will still crush you. Go look for better coach. I swear to God who made me, I go finish you.”

This isn’t the first time Portable has proven himself in the celebrity boxing ring.

The singer, best known for his hit song “Zazu,” has previously fought and defeated actor Charles Okocha and musician Speed Darlington in exhibition matches, earning him a reputation as one of the more skilled fighters among Nigerian entertainers who have ventured into boxing.

The upcoming match with Carter Efe is sanctioned by the Nigeria Boxing Board of Control and will headline the “Chaos in the Ring” fight night, an event promoted by Balmoral Group Promotions in partnership with former world heavyweight champion Amir Khan’s AK Promotions.

The fight will be broadcast live worldwide on DAZN, giving fans around the world the chance to witness the clash.

In addition to the celebrity bout, the fight night will feature a stacked professional undercard.

Highlights include a cruiserweight derby between Ezra Arenyeka (record 15-2, 12 KOs) and Godday Appah (record 14-2, 13 KOs), along with several other professional African and international boxing matches.

This combination of celebrity and professional fights promises to make the night one of the most significant events in the African boxing calendar.

The rivalry between Portable and Carter Efe has been building for months, fueled by social media interactions, challenges, and fan debates.

Promoters have taken advantage of this tension, marketing the fight as a major influencer boxing event, marking one of the first times such a concept has been showcased on the African continent.

With both entertainers boasting a combined social media following of over 10 million, anticipation is high, and the event is expected to attract massive attention both online and in attendance.

Fans are eagerly watching the buildup, speculating on who will emerge victorious.
