TikTok creator and streamer, Hamzat Habeeb Adelaja, also known as Peller, has reacted to two major controversies involving him. He said he is innocent and not directly responsible for what happened.

The first issue is about his visit to the palace of the Oba of Benin in Benin City on March 6, 2026. The visit was said to be unauthorised.

The Benin Traditional Council (BTC) criticised the visit, describing it as a violation of palace rules and traditions. According to them, Peller and his team entered the palace without permission, which caused embarrassment.

Because of the incident, some palace officials were punished. A chief was suspended, a staff member was arrested and charged in court, and a queen involved in the video may face removal based on palace customs.

The BTC has asked Peller to appear before a committee, explain what happened, and submit a written apology. They also warned that there could be legal consequences if he fails to comply.

Speaking during a livestream, Peller said he only went to the palace because his manager told him to. He added that he did not know he needed special permission.

He said he behaved respectfully during the visit and greeted everyone properly. According to him, he has done nothing wrong.

The second issue involves a lawsuit of N395 million filed against him by a Lagos resident, Osarobo Odigie.

In the lawsuit, she accused Peller of defamation, cyberbullying, invasion of privacy, and causing emotional distress.

The case is linked to an incident that happened on January 6, 2026, at a lounge in Lekki, Lagos. Peller was accused of insulting her, recording her without permission, and posting the video online, which later went viral.

Peller said he does not have the money to pay the amount being demanded. The claims include N200 million for defamation, N100 million for emotional distress, N75 million for cyberbullying, and N20 million for legal fees.

He said he had already apologised earlier in January and asked for forgiveness again. He described himself as young and still learning.

Peller also claimed that the criticism and lawsuit seem like attempts to ruin him financially.
