President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will begin an official trip to France, Kenya, and Rwanda starting Saturday, May 2, as part of efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s diplomatic and economic relationships with other countries.

The announcement was made by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, who explained that the visit will focus on building partnerships and attracting investment into Nigeria.

During the trip, President Tinubu will attend important global meetings centred on economic growth, climate action, innovation, and investment opportunities across Africa.

One of the key events is the Africa-France Summit, which will take place in Nairobi from May 11 to May 12.

The summit will bring together African and French leaders to discuss major development issues such as energy transition, infrastructure development, climate resilience, and digital transformation.

It is also expected to strengthen cooperation between African countries and France.

After the Kenya meeting, the president will travel to Kigali to attend the Africa CEO Forum scheduled for May 14 to May 15. The forum will gather more than 2,000 business leaders, investors, and policymakers from across Africa and other parts of the world.

Discussions will focus on boosting economic growth through regional integration and cross-border investments.

At both events, Tinubu is expected to present Nigeria’s economic reform plans, highlight business opportunities, and meet with international investors and African leaders.

He will be accompanied by top government officials and is expected to return to Nigeria after the engagements in Rwanda.

The trip follows his recent visit to the United Kingdom, where Nigeria secured major investment deals, including £746 million for port modernisation and £24 million from Associated British Foods, along with partnerships involving over 30 UK companies.
