Gunmen Raid Catholic School in Niger State
Gunmen stormed St Mary’s Catholic Primary and Secondary School in Papiri, Agwara LGA, Niger State, early on Friday, abducting 315 people, including 303 students and 12 teachers.
In response to this tragedy and the ongoing rise in attacks, the governor has ordered all schools in the state shut down.
Security Fallout After Gunmen Abduction
This incident is part of a worrying pattern: earlier this year, gunmen attacked a church in Kwara State, abducted a lawmaker in Plateau State, and killed a priest in Enugu. Each event adds pressure on the government to act decisively.
