Governor Dapo Abiodun has announced a new programme that will give monthly cash support to residents across Ogun State.
Speaking at the opening of the Remo Anglican Diocese Synod held at Our Saviour’s Anglican Church in Ikenne, the governor said the Renewed Hope Ward Development Programme aims to support between 50,000 and 100,000 people within the next year.
According to him, the programme is designed to improve the economy, strengthen institutions, and support the people of Ogun State. It will be implemented across all 236 wards in the state to help reduce economic hardship and encourage development at the grassroots level.
Governor Abiodun also said his administration will focus on rebuilding the Sagamu–Ode Lemo Road and stressed that government and religious organisations need to work together to promote peace and progress.
He praised churches for their role in education, healthcare, youth development, and moral values. He also encouraged religious leaders to motivate citizens to register and vote ahead of future elections.
During the event, Archbishop Olusina Fape commended the state government’s ISEYA agenda, mentioning projects such as the Gateway International Airport and the Light Up Ogun Project as initiatives helping trade and investment.
The Synod was held under the theme: “The Empty Tomb: An Authentic Proof of the Living Saviour, Jesus Christ.”
