Paystack co-founder Ezra Olubi is at the center of intense online backlash after several disturbing old tweets allegedly linked to him resurfaced across social media, sparking widespread outrage and renewed conversations around accountability in Nigeria’s tech ecosystem.
The controversy escalated when Patricia founder, Hanu Fejizzy, made a viral public accusation describing Ezra as “a pedophile and misogynist,” insisting that he “should be investigated” and “locked up.” Hanu’s statement poured fuel on the already-growing outrage as Nigerians circulated screenshots of tweets allegedly posted by Ezra more than a decade ago.

Resurfaced Tweets Fuel Public Anger
A series of old tweets, dated between 2010 and 2011, have gone viral — many of them containing references to inappropriate touching and minors. Among the most circulated screenshots:
1. Alleged tweet making light of harassment (2011)
“Monday will be more fun with an ‘a’ in it. Touch a coworker today. Inappropriately.”
2. Alleged tweet referencing sexual activity with a minor (2010)
“…i hear sx with a minor cures HIV. …your neighbour’s daughter isn’t looking bad today.*”
These posts have shaken many Nigerians, with thousands describing them as deeply troubling and unacceptable.
Current Status
Neither Ezra Olubi nor Paystack has released an official statement addressing the resurfaced tweets or Hanu’s explosive accusations. Ezra’s X account has also shown signs of restricted visibility or possible deactivation, further fueling public speculation.
Social Media Reaction
The controversy has split online users into two main camps:
Those calling for immediate investigation, arguing the tweets are too disturbing to ignore.
Those urging caution, noting that authenticity, editing, or context has not yet been independently confirmed.
The story continues to dominate conversations on X, Instagram, and within Nigeria’s tech community as many await a formal response from the parties involved.
