Davido Releases Official Statement, Donates 300m Naira To Orphanages And Charity Homes

Nigerian singer David Adedeji Adeleke popularly known as Davido is standing on business in regards to the 300 million Naira donation to orphanages and charity homes to commemorate his birthday.

The singer, who just turned 32 has released an official statement supporting the announcement he made earlier of donating to charity and orphanages through his foundation.

Davido had gone on social media a few days ago to share with his fans that he would be donating to orphanages and charity homes that help the young avoid drug abuse addiction. He stated that the amount would be N300 million, noting that he would release more details soon.

Davido recently taking to social media shared an official statement.

He wrote: “As we celebrate another milestone, the Foundation will be donating the sum of N300,000,000 to charitable causes across Nigeria. Continuing its tradition of generosity, DAF is channeling significant resources to initiatives that bring hope and joy to countless beneficiaries. These include donating to orphanages and a charity that helps young people stay away from drug abuse and addiction.”

Davido is regarded as one of the most important Afrobeats artists of the 21st century and helped popularize the genre globally. He became famous after releasing ‘Dami Duro’ the second single from his debut studio album Omo Baba Olowo (2012).

Davido won the Next Rated award at The Headies in 2012 and In 2019, New African magazine listed Davido as one of the 100 most-influential Africans.

The singer is a cultural ambassador for Nigeria and a prominent voice of human rights in Africa. He is also one of the most-followed African artists on Instagram and Twitter.
