Adeboye: Church Is for Worship, Not Political Speeches

Femi Fabunmi

Enoch Adeboye, the leader of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has said the church does not support any political party.

He explained that RCCG is open to everyone, no matter their political views. He said people from different parties, including All Progressives Congress (APC), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party, and All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), all worship together in the church.

Adeboye added that although politicians can attend services, the church does not allow political speeches at the altar. The church’s role is to pray for everyone.

Speaking about Nigeria’s future, he said God has already decided who will become president in 2027, and Nigerians should focus on prayer and their responsibilities.

He also explained why he joined protests in the past. He said he did so because the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) asked Christians to protest peacefully, and he follows their direction on national Christian matters.

Adeboye said he does not see himself as the father of all Christians in Nigeria, but only as the leader of RCCG.

He advised church members to avoid political arguments or criticizing fellow believers. He promised to support and defend his members and warned them not to let others use them for politics.

Clean version (no ads, concise):

Enoch Adeboye says the Redeemed Christian Church of God is not linked to any political party and remains open to all Nigerians.

He said members from parties like All Progressives Congress, Peoples Democratic Party, Labour Party, and All Progressives Grand Alliance worship together, while political speeches are not allowed in church.

He added that God already knows who will win the 2027 election and urged Nigerians to pray and stay focused.

Adeboye said he joined past protests on the instruction of the Christian Association of Nigeria and clarified that he is only the spiritual leader of RCCG, not all Christians in Nigeria.

He also advised members to avoid political conflicts and remain united.
