Popular Nigerian comedian, AY Makun aka AY on Thursday took to social media to refute claims alleging he defamed the daughter of Grammy-nominated Afrobeat singer, Seun Kuti.
It would be recalled that Seun on Tuesday night, October 31 had called out the comedian during a Live session, accusing the comedian of referring to his daughter as a ‘dog’, saying the comedian mocked him, using his trials and tribulations.
The singer also accused AY of being a wife beater and having poor oral hygiene. He also said he was happy when AY’s house got burnt some months back.
Replying to the allegations in a video posted on social media this morning, AY denied the allegations insinuating that he referred to Kuti’s daughter as a dog. He stated that he won’t mock a young human as he spent 13 years of his life looking for a child.
He further stressed that the dog statement was a reference to a skit he recorded in June where he referred to a dog as ‘Hilda’.
He said he drew inspiration for the joke following the backlash Guinness Record holder, Hilda Baci and her bestfriend Enioluwa suffered after they were berated by dog lovers for eating dog meat in Cross Rivers.
Speaking on the claim that he has mouth odour, AY questioned the singer about how he came to such a conclusion. He asked, “Seun have we kissed before?”.
He concluded that he has never had a close contact with Seun and wonders how he came about the fact that he has mouth odour.
