Nollywood actress, Ruby Ojiakor has taken to social media to remember late actor, John Odonwondo, popularly known as Junior Pope.

Taking to her Instagram page to share a clip of her and the late actor, she noted that today makes it one month since the world stood still as they buried him.

Calling him her friend and brother, she stated that he is forever in her heart and told him to rest on.

She wrote: “Exactly one month today at UKEHE”….. Forever in our hearts my Friend and biggest bro “AKPA SWAG” IT IS WELL.”

The actress’s remembrance is coming days after she rubbished the claims that she was in an alleged romantic relationship with her late colleague, Junior Pope.

Recall, it was rumored that the actress was the late actor’s girlfriend following the way she mourned Junior Pope who died tragically with four others, in a boat accident while returning from a set.

The late actor’s wife, Jennifer, further fueled the rumours after unfollowing Ruby on Instagram shortly after her husband’s burial.

Speaking about the rumor, Ruby clarified on Saturday, that Junior Pope was never her boyfriend even though he was more than a friend to her.

She also debunked claims that the late actor is the father of her child, Royalty.

She said, “Junior Pope was never my boyfriend. There’s no intimacy between myself and Junior Pope. We never dated. Junior Pope was never my intimate friend. He was just my friend. He was more than a friend. He was my big brother,” she said.

“I also see a lot of posts, some persons will just screenshot and send to me and say, ‘Look at what they’re saying, they said he [Junior Pope] is Royalty’s father.’ I just looked at it and I laughed. How can people reason this way? Please and please, Junior Pope is not Royalty’s father. He’s not my daughter’s father. I just want to clarify this.”

Junior Pope was laid to rest in his hometown of Ukehe, in Enugu State.

He drowned on April 10, 2024 at the location of a movie titled The Other Side of Life produced by Adanma Luke. The deceased actor was later buried on May 17 in his hometown, Ikpogwu Ukehe in Nsukka, Enugu State.

Among those present at the funeral were the national president of Actors Guild of Nigeria, Emeka Rollas; Zubby Michael, Patience Ozokwo, Rita Edochie, Gentle Jack, Steve Eboh, E-Money and his brother Kcee.
