The Senate has initiated the evaluation process for the three recently appointed ministers.

The three nominees unveiled in the hallowed halls of the Senate are Dr. Jamila Ibrahim, Ayodele Olawande, and Abbas Balarabe. The intrigue surrounding these nominations arises because the specific role assigned to Abbas Balarabe remains undisclosed, sparking curiosity about the significant government position he might assume.

The Senate session, which began at 12:45 pm, took an unusual turn as lawmakers temporarily suspended their rules to admit the Special Adviser to the President on National Assembly Matters, Abdullahi Gumel. Gumel’s presence was deemed crucial in bringing the nominees into the plenary, adding an air of significance to the proceedings.

Senate President GodsWill Akpabio, in a session earlier this week, had formally read President Bola Tinubu’s letter nominating these three individuals for ministerial positions. Dr. Jamila Ibrahim and Ayodele Olawande have been nominated for the esteemed positions of Minister of Youths and Minister of State for Youths, respectively.

It is worth noting that this latest round of nominations follows President Tinubu’s initial submission of 48 names to the Senate, of which 45 successfully ascended to the esteemed role of ministers.
