Senator Moro’s ascent to the role follows the removal of Senator Simon Davou Mwadkwon from Plateau North Senatorial District, a decision made by the Appeal Court.

The Minority leader position was earlier zoned to the North Central by the Senate, and despite being a first-time Senator, Mwadkwon was nominated by the minority caucus before his removal.
