Portable Regains Freedom From Police Custody

Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, also known as Portable, has regained his freedom from the custody of the Lagos State Police Command.

It would be recalled that the 30-year-old was forcefully arrested on Tuesday over his alleged refusal to complete payment for his luxury car, the G-Wagon.

The singer had purchased a Mercedes Benz GLE 350 from a car dealer, identified as Ogunsanwo Temitope (Temmy Autos),  in Lagos but failed to complete the payment.

It was gathered that Portable had paid only N13 million after purchasing the vehicle, which was worth N27 million. He was said to have refused to pay the N14 million balance which led to the involvement of the police.

Confirming his release, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benajmin Hundeyin, told Vanguard Wednesday evening that the singer had been granted bail.

When asked if Portable had sorted out the issues, the spokesman added, “I have no idea about it but what I can say is that he has been granted bail.”
