The All Progressives Congress (APC), Nigeria’s ruling party, has announced that it will hold two significant meetings in mid-December 2025 to discuss key party matters and set the direction for upcoming political activities.

The first meeting, the National Caucus, is scheduled for Monday, December 15, 2025, at 6:00 pm, while the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting will follow on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at 12:00 pm. Both meetings are set to take place at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The announcement was made public through an official notice signed by the APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru, and published on the party’s official website.
The National Caucus, as defined under Article 11 of the APC Constitution, brings together top leaders and influential stakeholders of the party. According to the notice, attendees are expected to include:
The National Chairman and Deputy National Chairmen (North and South)
The National Secretary and other key national officers
Past and present Presidents and Vice Presidents who are members of the APC
Former and serving Governors
National and state chairmen
Party leaders in both the Senate and House of Representatives
Other important representatives listed in the APC Constitution
The caucus is an important platform for party leaders to deliberate on policy directions, upcoming elections, and internal party matters. All members were urged to take notice of the meeting date and attend without fail.
The NEC meeting, set for the following day, is another central organ of the APC, responsible for critical decision-making and policy implementation, as outlined under Article 13.1 of the party’s constitution. Expected attendees include:
National officers of the party
State chairmen and zonal representatives
Members elected during the National Convention
Heads of key party departments and units
The APC emphasized that all NEC members must take note of the date and ensure their presence, in compliance with Article 12.3 of the party’s constitution.
These meetings are seen as pivotal for the party to consolidate its leadership, strategize for future elections, and address internal party issues. Analysts say the outcomes of the December meetings could shape APC’s political landscape in the coming months.
