The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has forecast sunshine and cloudy weather across Nigeria from Monday to Wednesday.
In a weather report released on Sunday in Abuja, NiMet said the northern part of the country will experience mostly sunny and cloudy skies throughout the three days.
For the southern region, NiMet predicted sunny weather with some cloud cover. However, there may be isolated thunderstorms with light rainfall later in the day in parts of Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, and Cross River states.
Tuesday Forecast:
NiMet said the northern and central regions will have sunny and hazy weather. The southern region is expected to be sunny with patches of clouds.
There are chances of thunderstorms and light rain in the morning in parts of Ogun, Lagos, Rivers, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom, and Cross River states.
Later in the day, thunderstorms may also affect Ondo, Imo, Delta, and other southern states.
Wednesday Forecast:
The agency predicted sunny and hazy conditions in the north during the morning, with dust haze expected in the afternoon and evening.
The central region will remain sunny and hazy.
In the south, cloudy skies with sunny intervals are expected in the morning, along with possible isolated thunderstorms and light rain in parts of Anambra, Imo, Abia, Edo, Bayelsa, Delta, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, and Rivers states.
NiMet advised people with asthma and other respiratory conditions to be careful due to the weather conditions.
The agency also warned motorists against driving in the rain and advised airline operators to obtain airport-specific weather reports from NiMet to help with proper flight planning.
