President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has given approval for the deployment of four ambassadorial nominees from the list of 68 candidates earlier confirmed by the Senate in December.
Those cleared for diplomatic assignments include Ambassador Ayodele Oke, who has been designated to represent Nigeria in France, and Colonel Lateef Are, appointed as Nigeria’s ambassador-designate to the United States of America.
In addition, Ambassador Aminu Dalhatu, who previously served as Nigeria’s envoy to South Korea, has been appointed as the High Commissioner-designate to the United Kingdom.
Former Kebbi State Governor, Usman Isa Dakingari Suleiman, has also been approved as Nigeria’s ambassador-designate to the Republic of Turkey. His posting comes ahead of President Tinubu’s planned state visit to the country next week.
The President has directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to formally communicate these appointments to the respective host nations in line with established diplomatic protocols.
