Nigerian singer and song writer Adedamola Oyinlola Adefolahan professionally known as Fireboy in a recent interview on City FM, has weighed in on the issue of artist conflicts that is of continuous occurrence in the Nigerian music industry.
According to the musician, disagreement is normal in music as artists are humans as well.
“Everyone should just focus on what concerns them. Let artists be artists, fans be fans, and the media keep telling the stories,” the singer says.
“Beef, everything is all normal. We are all human,” Fireboy says on the conflict between artists with the most recent being another showdown between Wizkid and Davido.
Fireboy further emphasised In the interview that he likes to mind his business in what restates his desire to live a drama-free life.
He also touched on his recently released fourth album ‘Adedamola’ which had guest appearances from Lagbaja, spinall, Jon Baptiste, and Seun Kuti.
He also said the collaboration with Lagbaja and Seun Kuti was suggested by his record label boss (YBNL) Olamide, a Nigerian rapper, singer, song writer and producer who served as executive producer on the album.
The issue of artist conflict is not uncommon in Nigerian music with notable disagreements between stars in different eras.
In the past few years, the industry has seen disputes between music stars, the likes of Ruger and BNXN who later made up and delivered a joint EP ‘RnB’. Davido and Burna Boy have also engaged in public and also Wizkid’s and Davido’s recent saga.
