The National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Samuel Anyanwu, has said the party is making efforts to bring back lawmakers and members who left during the party’s leadership crisis.
According to him, the Supreme Court’s decision on the leadership dispute has ended all legal battles within the party. He said the PDP is now united, stronger, and preparing to surprise many people in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking during a reception organized by the PDP Youth Wing for the party’s National Chairman, Anyanwu said some senators who left the party are already planning to return.
“We are going to have many senators. Some of those who left the party are coming back. We will be stronger. PDP is in a good position,” he said.
Anyanwu dismissed claims that the PDP is no longer relevant, insisting that the party remains one of Nigeria’s strongest political parties.
“People who say PDP is dead are wrong. PDP is alive and becoming stronger. There is only one PDP in Nigeria, and all issues concerning the party have been settled,” he said.
He added that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has confirmed the party’s leadership structure, putting an end to claims of factional leadership within the PDP.
The National Chairman of the party, Alhaji Abdulrahman Mohammed, also expressed confidence in the future of the PDP. He praised the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, for his leadership contributions and efforts toward strengthening the party.
Mohammed said the PDP leadership is working hard to stabilize the party at all levels and believes members will have reasons to celebrate after the 2027 elections.
He also urged party officials to carry out their responsibilities in line with the PDP constitution, the Electoral Act, and INEC regulations to avoid future disputes and crises within the party.
