Senator Adams Oshiomhole, who represents Edo North, has said that Senate President Godswill Akpabio sees him as a threat and would have locked him out of the Senate if he had the power to do so.

Speaking during an interview on the Mic On Podcast, Oshiomhole said Akpabio is overly suspicious of him and believes he is behind many issues in the Senate.

According to Oshiomhole, many senators are unhappy with Akpabio’s leadership style, although they do not openly express their concerns.

“He is paranoid about everything that has to do with me. Everyone in the Senate knows that if Akpabio had his way, he would lock me out of the Senate because he thinks I am the devil he knows,” Oshiomhole said.

He added that there are other people influencing events in the Senate whom Akpabio may not be aware of.

Oshiomhole also predicted that the next Senate, the 11th Assembly, would be different from the current 10th Senate.

“The 11th Senate will not be like the 10th Senate. Many senators are quietly complaining about his style of leadership,” he said.

The disagreement between Oshiomhole and Akpabio reportedly began when the Senate amended its standing rules ahead of the 2027 political season.

The conflict later escalated into a heated argument on the Senate floor during discussions on amendments to Orders 4 and 5 of the Senate rules.
