Popular Skit maker comedian Mark Angel has narrated how singer Davido intervened to resolve a controversial issue involving protégé and comedienne, Emmanuella Samuel.
It would be recalled that Emmanuella in December 2023 sparked reactions after a video of the 13-year-old dancing to the song ‘Paper’ by singer Toye in a body-fitted black gown went viral.
Fans of the comedienne suggested that she was too young to be dancing in that manner they described as provocative.

Reacting to the concerns over the girl, Mark Angel who serves as her guardian, took to his Instagram story to apologise for the video.
However, in a recent interview published on Music Base Africa, Mark Angel said Davido stepped in and reached out to Emmanuella on the phone, expressing his thoughts on the importance of her dressing appropriately and maintaining a decent appearance.

He mentioned that Davido’s influence proved to be incredibly effective, as Emmanuella underwent a significant transformation, choosing to no longer wear revealing attire
He said:
“Davido helped me overcome a potential problem that already seemed inevitable. Emmanuella is growing up and like every girl child, she has started making some personal decisions about her life which aren’t too easy to control.
“There was a time she was under fire for putting on revealing outfits and posting on social media. I advised her to change her entire wardrobe but she was a bit adamant.
“She continued doing things her way until Uncle Davido called us on a video call and advised Emmanuella on the importance of decency. Emmanuella quickly took the advice… probably because it came from her favorite artiste.
“She actually burnt most of her clothes the next day. I was surprised. Still thankful to Davido”
