The organisers of Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) have officially launched Season 11 of the popular reality television show, introducing the first 19 housemates who will compete for the grand prize of N160 million.
The new season premiered on Sunday evening with the show’s long-time host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, welcoming viewers and unveiling the contestants one after another.
The first group of housemates comes from different parts of Nigeria and represents various professions and backgrounds. While some described themselves as focused on winning the competition, others admitted they are open to finding love and building relationships in the house.
Below are the first 19 housemates announced during the premiere:
1. Tram
A 24-year-old streamer based in Lagos. He said he is entering the house to focus on the game and has no interest in romance or distractions.
2. Martins
A 30-year-old visual storyteller and model from Kogi State.
3. Abi
A chef and model from Osun State who hopes to entertain viewers with her personality.
4. Chimsom Chuka
A 27-year-old pharmacist from Anambra State.
5. Keivo
A 27-year-old web developer from Benue State. Unlike some contestants, he said he is open to finding love while competing in the house.
6. Mercedes
A 26-year-old massage therapist from Delta State.
7. Kamsy
A 24-year-old event planner.
8. Sultex
A 24-year-old dancer and choreographer from Lagos.
9. Aikou
A 25-year-old contestant from Abuja. He describes himself as calm, confident and a book lover who enjoys spending time alone.
10. Flora
A makeup entrepreneur who hopes to make a strong impression in the competition.

The contestants will spend several weeks living together under one roof, where they will take part in different tasks, games and challenges designed to test their creativity, teamwork, intelligence and resilience. They will also face weekly nominations and possible eviction as the competition progresses.
This year’s edition has attracted widespread attention because of its record-breaking N160 million grand prize, making it one of the biggest rewards ever offered in the history of the reality show.
Millions of viewers across Nigeria and other African countries are expected to follow the programme closely as the housemates compete for fame, public support and the ultimate prize. More contestants are also expected to be introduced as the new season unfolds.
