A political support group called the Seyi Makinde Disciples has asked members of a faction supported by Nyesom Wike to return to the main leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The group’s convener, Laja Adeoye, made this appeal during an interview in Lagos.
Adeoye said the party is ready for reconciliation and believes the leadership crisis in the party will soon be resolved.
He asked members of the caretaker committee led by Mohammed Abdurahman and Senator Samuel Nwanyanwu to promote peace and rejoin the party structure recognized by the party’s constitution.
According to him, the caretaker committee formed by Wike’s allies is not recognized by the party’s constitution or the law.
He said the PDP is open to accepting suspended national officers back into the party if they are willing to work together and move forward.
Adeoye also said a recent ruling by the Court of Appeal in Ibadan has encouraged party leaders to increase efforts to reconcile.
The court advised members of the party to accommodate one another and work toward unity.
The ruling also affected actions taken by some suspended members of the party’s National Working Committee, including the creation of a caretaker committee.
Adeoye said the court decision should not create more division but instead provide an opportunity for members to settle their differences.
He added that unity with leaders like Seyi Makinde and Bala Mohammed would help rebuild the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He said the PDP plans to strengthen its position as an opposition party and mobilize Nigerians for the next elections.

Earlier, the Court of Appeal confirmed a ruling by Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court in Abuja.
The court cancelled the PDP national convention held on November 15–16, 2025 in Ibadan.
