Funke Akindele Cries Publicly Over Claims Of Not Supporting Colleagues, Maltreating Staff, Others

Nollywood actress cum filmmaker Funke Akindele has broken down in tears over the multiple allegations made against her since she became successful.

The 46-year-old who has been silent on allegations that she’s non- supporting to her colleagues, maltreating her staff and not rendering help to those in need.

Funke was forced to respond after she was accused of neglecting one of the actresses from her series Jenifa’s Dairy when she needed help when she was sick,

The actress whose name is Jumoke Aderounmu died on April 6 after a brief illness.

Funke mourned the deceased in an Instagram post on Monday but Adeolu Aderounmu, brother of the late actress, dragged the filmmaker, calling her a “hypocrite’.

According to him, when Jumoke was sick, she reached out to Funke several times but the Omo Ghetto star did not get back to her.

Addressing the matter in an Instagram live session on Tuesday, Funke said that she reached out to Jumoke’s brother after seeing his post but the latter ignored her message.

Funke, who started crying during the live session, added that no one told her about Jumoke’s illness.

Speaking further, the mother of two, who could not hold back her tears, lamented the allegations that had been made against her in the past.

“People say ‘she doesn’t support her colleagues, she doesn’t attend events’, I live in Amen Estate, that’s where my studio is. Before I drive down to Ikoyi Lekki for an event, dem no go don finish the event?

“Please, I don’t beef any filmmaker, I do my thing, I face where I am going, the records I’ve been able to break is by the grace of God. Don’t forget I’ve got my trying moments. During COVID remember? My mum passed on, politics, I was backlashed, marriage remember?

“Somebody now said ‘you will lose your children’, I think that’s too much.

“I sent a message to that guy, Jumoke’s brother, he saw it, but he didn’t reply. I said ‘oh I’m sorry sorry I didn’t hear, I don’t know anything about your sister. I don’t go to blogs’. They said different things on blogs to me as long as my name is not being mentioned, I do my thing and I face where I am going,”

a teary Funke said.

Addressing claims of maltreating her workers, Funke said: “Yes, I am strict, I am very strict, I will not take nonsense, I am focused. Whoever works with me that wants to go can go, whoever wants to stay can stay.”
