Top political figures across Nigeria gathered in Anambra State as Governor Chukwuma Soludo officially begins his second term in office, marking a significant moment in the state’s political landscape.

Topsociety reports that among those in attendance were former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, as well as Vice President Kashim Shettima. Their presence underscored the importance of the inauguration and drew national attention to the event.

The swearing-in ceremony, held at Alex Ekwueme Square, attracted a large crowd of supporters, political allies, and government officials. It marked the continuation of Soludo’s leadership following the completion of his first tenure, which was celebrated during a series of activities leading up to the inauguration.

Pre-inauguration events began days earlier with an interdenominational church service, where prayers were offered for the success of the incoming administration.

The programme is expected to conclude with a thanksgiving mass later in the week, reflecting both celebration and reflection on the journey ahead.

To ensure a peaceful and orderly ceremony, security was heightened across key areas in the state. Law enforcement agencies maintained a strong presence, managing crowds and safeguarding dignitaries throughout the event.

With his second term now underway, Soludo is expected to build on his previous policies while addressing ongoing challenges and advancing development efforts in Anambra State.

The renewed mandate is expected to place greater responsibility on the administration of Chukwuma Soludo to deliver on key promises, particularly in areas such as infrastructure, economic growth, and security. Residents and stakeholders are hopeful that the second term will bring more visible improvements across the state.

Political observers say the strong turnout of national leaders reflects both confidence in Soludo’s leadership and the strategic importance of Anambra in Nigeria’s political and economic landscape. The presence of figures like Olusegun Obasanjo, Goodluck Jonathan, and Kashim Shettima also created an avenue for broader political engagement.

As celebrations wind down, attention is now shifting to governance, with expectations high that the administration will build on its previous achievements while introducing new policies aimed at improving the lives of the people.
