Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholor, has strongly declared that President Bola Tinubu will win the 2027 presidential election in Edo State.

He expressed complete confidence in the president’s popularity and in the support the All Progressives Congress, APC, currently enjoys in the state.

Speaking in an interview that has gone viral, the governor made a bold promise: if President Tinubu does not win in Edo State in 2027, he will resign from office.

He said his confidence comes from the work his administration has done since the APC took control of the state.

Okpebholor explained that many development projects completed under his government have strengthened the support of Edo people for the APC. According to him, these projects—ranging from road construction to community empowerment programmes—have made residents more willing to vote for Tinubu again.

He insisted that the ruling party now enjoys overwhelming support, claiming that opposition parties have no real influence in Edo at the moment.

He added that grassroots groups, local leaders and even youth organisations are united behind the APC and the president.

The governor said: “There is no opposition in Edo. Everybody is for Asiwaju in this state. Tinubu is more popular than I am in Edo. If he does not win the 2027 presidential election here, I will resign.”

He further emphasized that the 2027 elections will reflect the achievements of the APC-led government and the trust Edo people have placed in its leadership.
