Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has mandated the immediate freezing of all state and local government accounts, following his recent rebuke of aides for what he deemed as inadequate representation of his administration.
The directive, communicated through the Commissioner for Finance, Asiru Idris, explicitly prohibits any disbursements or imprest from the Government Account.

According to the statement, all
“standing orders and investment instructions are hereby cancelled forthwith”.
“All Kogi State and Local Government Accounts are hereby frozen with effect from today, Thursday 22nd November 2003.”
Governor Bello approaches the conclusion of his eight-year double tenure. Governor-Elect Usman Ododo, a former Auditor General of Local Government in Kogi and the APC candidate, is slated to take office in January 2024.
