President Bola Tinubu has announced the appointment of Dr Abdullahi Mustapha as the new Director General of the Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN).

This decision, confirmed by the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, shows the government’s move in revolutionizing the energy sector for the purpose of national industrialization and enhanced economic diversification.

Dr Abdullahi Mustapha, who brings a wealth of experience from his tenure of over a decade in the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), is set to leverage his profound expertise in both the energy and space technology domains. His leadership is expected to steer the ECN towards effectively addressing the challenges of energy generation, distribution, and management in Nigeria.
