I Promised Renewed Hope Not Miracles from Thin Air – Tinubu Tells Nigerians

As if urging Nigerians to lower their expectations from his government, President Bola Tinubu has pointed out that his administration did not promise miracles but only pledged deliberate reforms aimed at living conditions.

He stated this through Senate President Godswill Akpabio at the inauguration of the seven-kilometre access road bypassing the second runway of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on Thursday.

The President maintained that his administration had remained committed to implementing the renewed hope agenda despite prevailing economic challenges.

According to him, “When we came into office, we did not promise you miracles that would appear from thin air.

“We promised you structural, calculated, and deliberate progress. We promise a renewed hope agenda that will touch the lives of every Nigerian citizen, not just in economic statistics but also in the reality of their daily struggles.”

Tinubu went on to defend the economic reforms introduced by his administration.

He said, “The reforms we embarked on three years ago were never going to be easy.

“We made hard choices. But they were necessary choices. Hard choices today mean a stronger Nigeria tomorrow.

“We are not building for headlines. We are building for generations to come. We will keep working day and night until every Nigerian feels the impact of good governance.”

Akpabio also commended the quality of the newly completed road project, saying: “When I was coming on the road, I took up a newspaper to read, and as I was reading, the newspaper was not shaking. I said, this is a fantastic job.”
