The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expelled the Minister of the FCT and former Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike; former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose; and the party’s National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu.
Others expelled include Kamaldeen Adeyemi Ajibade (SAN), Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, George Turner and Hon. Umar Bature.
Former PDP Deputy National Chairman (South), Chief Olabode George, moved the motion for their expulsion. He said the affected members carried out actions that were meant to weaken and damage the party.
Earlier, the Secretary of the National Convention Organising Committee, Senator Ben Obi, asked delegates if the convention should be an Elective Convention.
He then moved a motion to adopt it as an Elective Convention, and Emmanuel Enoidem (SAN) supported the motion.
Governor Seyi Makinde also moved a motion to confirm and approve state Executive Committees and party structures that were formed according to the party’s rules and monitored by INEC and security agencies.

This approval excluded Imo, Abia, Enugu and Rivers states. The motion was seconded by Daniel Obiechina Okechukwu.
The convention further moved to dissolve the current National Working Committee (NWC) and also approved amendments to some parts of the party’s constitution.
