A video of a lady criticizing popular Nigerian gospel singer, Pastor and songwriter Nathaniel Bassey for not monetizing his YouTube channel when the Hallelujah Challenge was going on social media has gone viral.
An X user started the debate after saying that the gospel singer did not monetize Hallelujah Challenge’s YouTube page, which has over 2 million subscribers and gathered millions of views per post.
Hours after gospel singer Nathaniel Bassey ended his online Christian event, the Hallelujah Challenge, there has been a debate as to why the singer did not monetize his YouTube channel.
While several social media users applauded the singer, a lady identified as Iziegbe Ogbeide took to social media to criticize him for not making use of the opportunity.
The lady’s video caught people’s attention on social media as social media handlers shared shared their different opinions regarding the issue.
According to the lady, making money was not against morals. She stressed that Nathaniel could have monetised the page and used it to help needy people.
“Nathaniel can monetize channel to help people, it is not a thing to be celebrated,” she said.
The gospel songwriter popularly known for his songs ‘Onise Iyanu’, Imela’ and ‘Olowogbogboro’. Over the years, Nathaniel Bassey has established himself as one of the prominent gospel ministers in Nigeria.
His music spans across different genres such as jazz, worship, hymns and medley. He attends The Redeemed Christian Church Of God and pastors The Oasis Lagos, the youth church of the RCCG Kings Court in Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria.
