Omale, who is a retired military officer and a prominent figure in this unfolding political drama, voiced his concerns about the present administration in Kogi State, suggesting that it had assumed power by accident. He emphatically stated that it is now Kogi-West’s time to produce the next governor of the State.

Furthermore, Omale expressed his support for Otunba Braimoh, one of the governorship candidates. Omale praised Braimoh for having a comprehensive manifesto capable of addressing the persistent issue of poverty that has plagued the state for many years.

The statement partially states,

“I have been in the politics of Kogi State for long, I have worked for the former Minister for Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Chief Bayo Ojo, former Deputy Chief of Staff to the President, Chief Olushola Akanmode and we are ready to work for you.

“The party has continued to receive decampees from various Parties including a Stalwart of PDP in Ojoku Ward, Hon. Samuel Omale, and his teaming supporters. Also, some members of the All Progressives Congress defected to AA, saying they were committed to realizing the wealth creation program of the governorship Candidate.”

Similarly, Mr. Samuel Omale, a former PDP stalwart in Ojoku ward who recently switched allegiance to AA, has called upon the new members to embark on a grassroots campaign within the local government. Their mission is to garner support for Otunba Olayinka Braimoh and his running mate, Alhaji Yahaya Tijani Imam.

In his response, Braimoh addressed the gathering of new party members and his supporters during the defection ceremony. He emphasized that his mission is dedicated to lifting Kogi State and its people out of poverty, highlighting his comprehensive STAT Agenda. This agenda encompasses Solid Minerals Development, Agriculture, Trade, and Tourism.

Braimoh underlined that his vision for the state aims to ensure that every citizen has food on their table. He pointed out that Kogi state possesses abundant human and natural resources, and there’s no reason for it to endure poverty.

He earnestly sought additional support from the Ankpa electorate, emphasizing his commitment to rescuing the state from its current economic challenges.
