Ekiti Governor Vows Swift Action Following Ikere-Ekiti Bank Robbery

Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has taken decisive action in the aftermath of Wednesday’s harrowing bank robbery in Ikere-Ekiti. In a stern directive on Thursday, the governor has instructed security agencies in the state to track down the perpetrators and ensure justice is served.

Governor Oyebanji, expressing his dismay, deemed the armed robbery incident as “senseless and disheartening,” emphasizing that no stone will be left unturned in the pursuit of the criminals.

The governor’s resolve was conveyed through a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode.

Condolences were extended to the families of the victims, the Ogoga-in-Council, and the entire community of Ikere Ekiti.

Reports indicate that the armed robbers targeted two banks, resulting in the tragic loss of three lives and injuries to several individuals.

In addition to the manhunt, Governor Oyebanji has directed government hospitals to provide proper care for those injured during the robbery.

Police Vows Swift Action Following  Ekiti Bank Robbery   

Emphasizing the significance of local vigilance, he called on citizens to share any information that could aid ongoing investigations.

Oyebanji said,

“The perpetrators of this heinous crime will not go unpunished. Our security agencies will go after them and ensure they face the guilt and wrath of the law. 

“Our condolences to the families of victims of the robbery attack and the Ikere people,” he said.

Despite the shocking incident, the governor urged the people of Ekiti State to remain calm and vigilant in their daily activities. He reassured the public of the government’s commitment to their security and safety, pledging relentless efforts to rid the state of criminal elements.
