The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has fixed October 8 as the date to hear the case over the winner of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The case involves the Senegalese Football Federation, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the Royal Moroccan Football Federation.
The dispute began after CAF ruled that Senegal had forfeited the 2025 AFCON, a decision that led to Morocco being declared champions.
Senegal has challenged the ruling and wants CAS to cancel CAF’s decision and review the final outcome of the tournament.
CAS said the parties did not agree to speed up the case. Because of this, the matter will follow the court’s normal arbitration process.
The hearing will be held behind closed doors.
After listening to all parties, the CAS panel will study the case before delivering its final and binding decision.
The ruling is expected to settle one of the biggest legal disputes in African football and officially determine the winner of the 2025 AFCON.
