Colleagues of Nollywood actor, John Okafor better known as Mr Ibu on Monday stood in solidary, extending support and prayers for one of their own whose leg was recently amputated.
It would be recalled that the family of the actor had confirmed his amputation in statement on Instagram.
According to Ibu’s daughter, Jazimine Okafor, the actor had gone through 7 successful surgeries, but had one of his legs amputated to keep him alive and increase his chances of recovery.
The actor’s family had also appreciated those who have supported him on his road to recovery.
They called for more assistance from Nigerians.
Following the news of the amputation, fans and colleagues of the actor alike, extended prayers to the ailing actor.
Nollywood actress, Rita Edochie shared video of herself at the hospital with Ibu’s wife Stella Maris Okafor who expressed gratitude for the actress’ visit.
In the video, Rita could be heard praying for the actor and his family while his wife kept saying “Amen” to her prayers.
Captioning the video, Rita Edochie wrote;
“I went to see Ibu John Okafor at Evercare Hospital Lekki Phase 1. He is doing well but all we owe him is to keep praying for him.”
Charles Inojie took to the comment section of the actor’s post to pray for actor.
He wrote;
“For the joy that your name and persona exudes across the four corners of the earth, God Almighty shall preserve you till you attain a good, ripe old age.”
Judy Austin wished the sick actor a quick recovery.
She wrote;
“This is truly painful but in every situation, we give God all the Glory. Praying for your quick recovery Daddy.”
Chinedu Ikedieze prayed for the healing of the actor.
He wrote;
“God’s healing upon you sir. Wishing you a speedy recovery.”
