The Fika Emirate Council in Yobe State, Nigeria, has officially declared the passing of Adamu Fika CFR, former Head of Service to the Federation.
According to the council’s statement, the renowned administrator breathed his last on Tuesday evening at his residence in Kaduna.
Born in 1933 in Fika, Yobe State, Adamu Fika had an illustrious career, having served as the permanent secretary of various governmental departments, including the police affairs department, Ministry of Communication, and the Federal Capital Territory. He held the prestigious traditional title of Waziri within the Fika Emirate Council, underscoring his significant contributions to the community.

Beyond his administrative roles, Fika was actively involved in educational institutions, serving as the pro-chancellor and chairman of the governing council of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, in 2018. Additionally, he was the esteemed chairman of the board of trustees of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) until his untimely demise.
In response to the saddening news, Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the Fika Emirate Council, acknowledging the loss of a national stalwart.
Governor Buni emphasized that Fika’s passing has left an irreplaceable void not only in his family’s life but also within the Fika Emirate Council and the state at large.
Funeral arrangements have been set for Wednesday at 4 p.m. with the funeral prayers scheduled to take place at the Sultan Bello mosque in Kaduna.
