In response to a recent wave of online misinformation about missing bags of rice, the Chairman of the Palliative Committee for Akure South Local Government Area, Sir Charles Titiloye, has strongly refuted claims of missing rice meant for distribution in Ondo State. He emphasized that the distribution process has been conducted with utmost transparency and diligence, directly benefiting the vulnerable and marginalized members of the community.
Addressing the issue, through a statement released on Tuesday, 17th October, Sir Charles Titiloye shed light on the attempts by certain entities to disrupt the distribution process, which was promptly foiled by the vigilance of the people of Ondo state and the security agencies. He noted that despite these challenges, not a single bag of rice was lost during the distribution.
He added that the committee, in a bid to ensure an efficient and inclusive distribution, implemented various strategies, including the use of SMS notifications to alert beneficiaries and the publication of the names of all the communities that received palliatives. Direct distribution to various institutions and organizations, including religious establishments and community groups, was also carried out, with photographic evidence provided to the public.
In the face of these what he tagged “baseless allegations”, Sir Charles Titiloye reaffirmed the committee’s commitment to serving the people of Akure South, promising to continue their efforts to alleviate the impact of recent policy changes on the common masses.

Full Statement
BEWARE OF ONLINE FAKE NEWS. NO BAG OF RICE IS MISSING IN AKURE SOUTH.
My attention has been drawn to a fake news on an online platform that bags of rice meant for palliative are missing in Akure South Local Government Area.
This is indeed another fabrication by those disappointed that the Palliatives are being distributed transparently and directly to the vulnerable and commoners by Ondo State Government and not through the usual established political bigwigs. We deployed adequate security to monitor the exercise and the venue of distribution is quite safe. The records of daily distribution are also in the public domain.
The two attempted attacks by hoodlums at the distribution centre were aborted by the good people of Ondo state and security agencies a week ago and a reviewed representational distribution to ensure crowd control at the centre was adopted. The distribution thereafter continued smoothly last week.
Not a single bag of rice was lost to these harbingers of confusion.
Having failed to abort the process, they resulted to online media faceless blackmail.
As a civil right activist, I know in changing a deep rooted corrupt system having insatiable ruthless gladiators, strategic plans have to be involved to bypass the entrenched selfish and greedy monsters determined to corner all Government policies to their advantage and threaten the existence of the common man.
Twice we re-work our strategies to ensure we reach the ordinary citizens of Akure South. SMS were even sent out to alert the people and beneficiaries to meet their representatives to collect their palliatives.
Names of all the communities that received Palliatives were published daily by the Secretariat. We have a clear database for the distribution.
Traditional rulers and institutions, Churches, Mosques and religious places including groups and organisations received Palliatives directly from Government and the pictures of the beneficiaries/representative were taken for all to see.
Akure South Local Government reach and transparency in the distribution of Palliatives in Ondo state has been applauded by all stakeholders.
We are not deterred by blackmailers, it is a trade and regular political business. This time around, it was not business as usual.
We are focused, we will continue to reach out directly to the common masses as Government brings succour to our people affected by removal of fuel subsidy.
Thanks.
Sir Charles Titiloye ksm FCArb, Hon. Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice Ondo state and
Chairman Palliative Committee for Akure South Local Government Area.
