Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, on Sunday received members of the Magnus Abe-led Reconciliation Committee of the Rainbow Coalition at the Government House in Port Harcourt.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Rivers State, Kingsley Chinda, was also part of the delegation.
The visit was aimed at promoting reconciliation and strengthening political cooperation among stakeholders in the state ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The meeting came days after the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, announced that a reconciliation committee led by Abe had been set up to strengthen the Rainbow Coalition in Rivers State.
Wike, a former governor of Rivers State, said the committee would engage with political stakeholders and work towards promoting unity within the coalition ahead of the 2027 elections.
The committee’s visit to Fubara is part of ongoing efforts by political leaders to bring different groups together and resolve differences among stakeholders in Rivers State.
Fubara welcomed the committee at the Government House, where he was joined by other political stakeholders.
