Nigerian artiste Falz has been roped into the saga regarding the cross dresser Bobrisky for allegedly helping him drop money laundering charges pinned against him with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
Martins Otse popularly known as Very Dark Man, a social media personality, claims that Falz and his father helped the cross dresser avert his sentence for abusing Naira.
In a viral video released by Very Dark Man on September 24, 2024, Idris Okuneye popularly known as Bobrisky alleged that some unnamed EFCC officers collected 15 million Naira to clear his money laundery case, he also alleged that a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and his son assisted in getting the charges dropped. Very Dark Man then alleged that Falz and his father who happens to be a renowned SAN were the ones behind Bobrisky’s charge being dropped.
As a result of the video being leaked, the EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, said the Commission’s Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, ordered an investigation into the situation. Falz became a trending matter on social media because of this, with many Nigerians reacting to the allegation.
Fews days after the shade and war, Very Dark Man apologized to human rights lawyer, Femi Falana over his defamatory comments against him. Appearing before the House of Representatives Joint Committee on Financial Crimes and Reformatory institutions on Monday, Very Dark Man also said he did not believe Falana was involved in the alleged bribery levelled against Bobrisky.
In a post the activist shared on his Instagram page, he said if Falz saw what was going on at the House of Representatives investigation panel, he would drop the lawsuit he filed against him. Very Dark man stressed that he holds Femi Falana in high esteem for his human rights activism in Nigeria and believes an investigation is necessary instead of pursuing defamation charges.
