Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, has been re-elected for a second term as the Lagos State Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).
Akinsanya and his team, including Deputy Chairman Sulyman Ojora and Treasurer Mustapha Adekunle, were elected unopposed at the 10th Quadrennial State Delegates Conference held at the union secretariat in Agege.

The swearing-in ceremony, conducted by Adejare Kembi of Excel Practitioners, saw the presence of notable figures such as Acting National President Aliyu Issa Ore, former National Secretary Kabiru Ado Yau, and Controller of the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, Eshomounu Itemoagbo.
Expressing gratitude for his re-election, MC Oluomo acknowledged the support of Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Ore-led national union body, and various stakeholders during times of crisis. He commended the union members for their loyalty and perseverance, promising increased assistance.

Governor Sanwo-Olu, represented by Director Lateef Tiamiyu, praised Akinsanya’s leadership, noting the positive reforms in union activities. He highlighted the shift from violent leadership changes, emphasizing the peaceful nature of the election.
Eshomounu Itemoagbo lauded MC Oluomo’s leadership, especially his initiative to employ over 123 graduates in various union units. He pledged continued collaboration between the ministry and the union for further employment opportunities.
CP Idowu Owohunwa, represented by CSP Olatunji Oladimeji, commended MC Oluomo for cooperation with the police force and called for increased collaboration between the police and the union to enhance security and overall well-being in Lagos.
