The All Progressives Congress (APC) will today announce the results of the screening for nine aspirants contesting for the party’s governorship ticket ahead of the December 13 primary election in Osun State.
The screening was carried out over two days in Abuja by a seven-member committee led by Barrister Obinna Uzor. The panel is expected to submit its report to the National Working Committee (NWC) at the party’s national secretariat by 11 a.m. today.
After the report is submitted, an Appeal Committee chaired by Senator Tolu Odeniyi will attend to complaints or petitions from any aspirants on Saturday.
This process will be completed before the primary takes place.
The final day of the screening, held on
Thursday, featured appearances by:
Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, former Managing Director of the Nigeria Inland Waterways Authority
Adegoke Rasheed Okiki Adekunle (SAN), a senior lawyer

Dr. (Mrs.) Mulikat Abiola Jimoh, the only female aspirant
Senator Babajide Omoworare, a former vice chairman of a Senate committee
On Wednesday, five aspirants were screened, including:
Senator Iyiola Omisore, former deputy governor and ex-APC National Secretary
Babatunde Hareter Oralusi, a development financier
Barrister Oyedotun Babayemi, formerly of the PDP
Dr. Akinade Akanmu Ogunbiyi, insurance expert and businessman
Benedict Olugboyega Alabi, immediate past deputy governor
A member of the screening committee told our reporter that all aspirants presented their documents and were questioned based on APC guidelines, party constitution, and the Electoral Act.
“The committee is finishing up the report, and it will soon be ready for submission,” the source said.
