The Police Service Commission (PSC) has greenlit the promotion of a substantial number of senior police officers, encompassing both general duty and specialist cadres within the force. The approved promotions span various hierarchical levels, demonstrating the commitment to recognizing and elevating deserving personnel within the law enforcement system.

Among other promotions, 33 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) have been granted the rank of Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs), reflecting their commendable dedication and performance in their duties.

The newly promoted officers were encouraged by PSC Chairman Solomon Arase to adopt a fresh policing approach centered on a people-friendly ethos that upholds the fundamental rights of citizens.

He emphasized the importance of refraining from engaging in civil matters or leveling unfounded accusations against the public.

“Such conducts will not make them win the hearts and minds of the people, which will deprive them of credible information from public-spirited individuals when dealing with internal security issues,” Arase said.
