Police Parades Suspects in Journalist’s Murder in Zamfara


The Zamfara State Police Command has paraded two suspects, Mansur Haruna and Ibrahim Nababa, for their alleged involvement in the brutal murder of veteran journalist Hamisu Danjibga. The incident occurred within the state, leaving the community in shock and outrage.

The suspects were presented to the public on Tuesday evening at the police command headquarters in Gusau, the capital of Zamfara State. Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Shehu Dalijan, delivered a press briefing on the case, shedding light on the tragic events surrounding the journalist’s demise.

Hamisu Danjibga, a dedicated reporter with the Voice of Nigeria, was reportedly killed by his own nephew, Mansur Haruna, and his accomplice, Ibrahim Nababa. The arrest of these two individuals came as a result of swift police action immediately following the journalist’s tragic death.

Commissioner Dalijan stated that the prime suspect, Mansur Haruna, confessed to the authorities about the harrowing struggle that took place between them and the late journalist. It was initially an attempt to kidnap Danjibga, but it ultimately resulted in his fatal demise.

In another noteworthy development, the police also apprehended a suspected bandit with a specialization in smuggling military hardware from Aba in Abia State to a known bandit’s enclave in the Kaura-Namoda Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
