Oyo Government Demolishes Building Linked to Kidnappers of Adelabu’s Sister
The Oyo State Government has demolished a three-bedroom bungalow in the Lako community along Aiyegun-Anaye Road in Ibadan.
According to the government, the building was allegedly used as a hideout by suspected kidnappers who abducted the younger sister of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, and her children.
The demolition took place on Monday. Officials from the Oyo State Ministry of Public Works and Transportation carried out the exercise, while police officers provided security.
The action is part of the state government’s efforts to fight kidnapping and other crimes.
The victims, Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, were reportedly kidnapped on June 3, 2026, in the Elewura area of Challenge, Ibadan.
They were later rescued by security operatives.
Government officials said the demolition serves as a warning to criminals and shows the government’s commitment to improving security across the state.
The government also stated that any property found to be connected to criminal activities could face similar action as authorities continue efforts to dismantle criminal networks and protect residents.
