The Secretary to the Ondo State Government (SSG), Mr. Tayo Oluwatuyi, widely known as Tukana, has passed away. Oluwatuyi died in the early hours of Saturday following complications from injuries sustained in a road accident on December 15, 2024, while traveling to Ibadan, Oyo State.
A former Chairman of Akure South Local Government and Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Oluwatuyi was reportedly receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital before his demise.
Appointed SSG by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa on January 24, 2024, Oluwatuyi played a pivotal role in state governance, working closely with the governor and other top officials.
The news of his death has left the Ondo State government and community in shock. While an official statement from the government is awaited, preliminary tributes describe his passing as both unexpected and a significant loss to the state.
