President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has fired five ministers.
This development comes amidst the current reshuffle of his cabinet members and the merging of ministries.
Top Society reports that the sack of the ministers was contained in a statement by the special adviser to the President on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, on Wednesday.
He also re-assigned 10 ministers to new ministerial portfolios and appointed seven new ministers for Senate confirmation.
The President sacked Uju-Ken Ohanenye as Minister of Women Affairs; Lola Ade-John as Minister of Tourism; Tahir Mamman as Minister of Education; Abdullahi Gwarzo as Minister of State, Housing and Urban Development; and Jamila Ibrahim as Minister of Youth Development.
“The appointment of Shehu Dikko as Chairman of the National Sports Commission.The appointment of Sunday Akin Dare as Special Adviser to the President on Public Communication and Orientation working from the Ministry of Information and National Orientation,” the Presidency said.
President Tinubu Swears In Code of Conduct Bureau Chairman
Meanwhile, Tinubu on Wednesday, officially swore in the Code of Conduct Bureau Chairman, Abdullahi Bello Musa.
The President swore in the new Code of Conduct Bureau Chairman during the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the Council Chamber of the State House in Abuja.
Speaking after his swearing-in, the CCB chairman told newsmen that he is ready fo the task ahead and promised to justify the confidence reposed in him.
He said, “I want to thank Mr. President for appointing me to this position. Really happy, and I want to assure Mr. President and the people of Nigeria, I will do my best to make sure that I deal with this huge task that is ahead of me.”
