The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has again lowered the price of petrol. The ex-depot (gantry) price has dropped from N828 to N699 per litre.

Information from Petroleumprice.ng on Friday confirmed the new price. This means petrol is now N129 cheaper, which is a 15.58% reduction.
A refinery official, who was not authorised to speak publicly, also confirmed the change, saying:
“The refinery has reduced petrol gantry price to N699 per litre.”
The new price took effect on December 11, 2025. This is the 20th time this year that Dangote Refinery has adjusted petrol prices downward.
The latest reduction comes just five days after the refinery’s Chairman, Aliko Dangote, said he was committed to keeping fuel prices fair and competitive. He made the statement after a private meeting with President Bola Tinubu on December 6.
Dangote explained that prices will continue to fall as the refinery increases production and competes with imported fuel. He also said smuggling has reduced, although not completely stopped, because petrol in Nigeria is still cheaper than in neighbouring countries.
He added that diesel and petrol will continue to be sold at reasonable prices and stressed that the refinery is a long-term investment, not something meant to bring quick profits.
Following Dangote’s new review, other fuel depots also reduced their prices.
Sigmund Depot cut its price by N4, Bulk Strategic by N3, while TechnoOil made a larger reduction of N15.
Depots like A.A. Rano, NIPCO, and Aiteo also adjusted their prices slightly.
