Super Falcons forward Asisat Oshoala has come to the defence of Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi following attacks against him from social media influencers Tunde Ednut and VeryDarkMan.
Top Society reported that the Super Eagles were beaten 2-1 by the Elephants at the Alassane Quattara Olympic Stadium in Abidjan on Sunday night.
Franck Kessie and Sebastien Haller’s second-half goals cancelled William Troost-Ekong’s effort and ensured the host got their third AFCON title.

Following the defeat, some fans, particularly questioned coach Jose Peseiro’s insistence on starting Iwobi against the host.
The criticisms led Iwobi to deleted all but one post on his Instagram page where he has 1.3 million followers.
Reacting to a post on Instagram Story where Tunde Ednut rejoiced after Iwobi was substituted for Yusuf, Oshoala wrote on Tuesday:
“Tunde is an as*hole! Boys give am money to do giveaway, he dey form god. Old fo*l..who d f*ck do you think you are? Ode buruku…”
In another post, she claimed that Tunde Ednut bodyshames women.
“I’m a victim of cyber bully and I fu*kin know how that sh*t feels especially wen you’re being singled out…like yooo the whole team lost,”
she added.
Oshoala, who recently joined Bay FC in the United States from FC Barcelona Femeni in Spain, shared a video on Instagram Story of VeryDarkMan criticising Iwobi.
