A Nigerian woman, Helen Williams has achieved a new record for the longest handmade wig days after Hilda Baci lost the title for the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon.

TopSociety reports that Guinness World Record had via the Microblogging platform X formerly Twitter on Tuesday, 14th November announced the record, whilst detailing that Helen achieved the feat for the longest handmade wig, which stretches an incredible 351.28 metres.

A tweet by Guinness World Record read,

“Helen Williams from Lagos, Nigeria, has achieved a new record for the longest handmade wig which stretches an incredible 351.28 metres (1,152 ft 5 in).”

According to the GWR, she has been working as a professional wigmaker for eight years, producing anywhere from 50 to 300 wigs per week.

“Helen Williams from Lagos, Nigeria has achieved a new record for the longest handmade wig which stretches an incredible 351.28 metres (1,152 ft 5 in),” GWR tweeted.

Helen’s feat is coming barely a week after Akwa-ibom born cook, Hilda was dethroned as the record holder of the longest cooking marathon record by an Irish restaurant owner, Alan Fisher, last week.

It was gathered that Fisher broke the longest cooking marathon for an individual after cooking in a time of 119 hours 57 minutes.

Hilda, had in June set her record of 93 hours and 11 minutes after preparing over 100 varieties of food during her four-day kitchen stint.

However, Fisher, a restaurant owner based in Japan, now holds the record after cooking for more than 24 hours longer than the previous record set by Baci.

According to GWR, Fisher broke two cooking-related Guinness World Records titles, adding that, the impressive thing about the chef is, he took on two attempts back to back, and  was at work in the kitchen for over 160 hours with just over a day of rest in between

Fisher, a chef who operates his restaurant in Japan also claimed the longest baking marathon for an individual, with a time of 47 hours 21 minutes.
