Ambassadorial List Sparks Outrage as Obidient Movement Questions Integrity

Nana Kazaure, Head of Media and Strategic Communications for the Obidient Movement, has criticized some of the people included in President Bola Tinubu’s list of ambassadorial nominees.

Speaking during an interview on Arise Television’s “Prime Time” on Friday, Kazaure said some nominees have corruption issues and should not be considered for such appointments. She complained that those facing investigations are being rewarded instead of being held accountable.

She said:

“Many of the names on that list are troubling. Some of them should actually be in jail. There is someone whose case with the EFCC is not yet concluded, yet he is being appointed as an ambassador.”

Kazaure said the decision sends a bad message about governance in Nigeria. She noted that someone who had previously accused Tinubu of wrongdoing is now being rewarded with a diplomatic position.

She also questioned why qualified career diplomats are being ignored despite reaching the peak of their professional service.

“People are upset because this list ignores individuals who have the right qualifications and temperament,” she added.

Kazaure also raised concerns about two nominees bearing the same names, saying Nigerians deserve clear answers on that matter.

She urged the Senate to carefully review the list before confirming the nominees.
